Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
Who we are
FaceKin ("the app") is published by iamdev ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles information. If you have any questions, email support@iamdev.me.
Photos and faces
- Photos you choose or take are analyzed only on your device. They are never sent to us or to any third party.
- The app reads face features (such as the position of the eyes, nose and mouth) only to calculate the scores you see. This information stays in the app's memory while it is open and is discarded when the app is closed.
- Face information is never used to identify you, never stored on a server and never combined with any other data.
- The app does not keep a copy of your photos. When you choose to save or share a result image, it is handed to the system share sheet and goes only where you send it.
Anonymous app-open signal
Each time FaceKin starts, it sends a small anonymous signal to our server so we can count active devices and see which app versions, languages and iOS versions to support. It contains only:
- A random app identifier created by FaceKin (not your Apple ID, name or the device's advertising identifier). It is kept in your iPhone's keychain so a reinstall is not counted as a new device.
- App version, iOS version and iPhone model.
- Language, time zone and region settings.
It never contains photos, face information, results or anything you type. It is not linked to your identity, not used for advertising and not shared with anyone. If the device is offline, the signal is simply skipped and the app works as usual.
Information we do not collect
FaceKin has no account system, no advertising and no tracking across apps or websites. We do not collect your name, email address, precise location, contacts or browsing history.
Settings stored on your device
The app remembers a few preferences on your iPhone, such as your chosen language, the last mode you used and whether you have seen the welcome guide. These never leave your device and are deleted when you delete the app.
Permissions
- Camera: used only when you choose to take a photo for a comparison.
- Photos (add only): used only when you choose to save a result image to your photo library.
Picking a photo from your library uses Apple's private photo picker, so the app only sees the photos you select. You can change permissions anytime in the iPhone Settings app.
Apple services
If you have agreed to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash reports. Ratings and reviews are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Children
FaceKin can be used with photos of children, but it does not collect any information from or about anyone. Parents and guardians stay in full control of which photos are used.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will also be described in the app's release notes.
